Series Review: The Unicorn Chronicles by Bruce Colville

unicornchronicles

The Unicorn Chronicles by Bruce Coville is quite possibly my favorite book series of all time. There is a ton of nostalgia here for me as Into the Land of the Unicorns was the first “adult” book that captured my attention and kept me up all night reading it from cover to cover.

As an adult I took the time to search out the rest of the series and was very much rewarded for my efforts. I love this series.

What do you think about the series overall?

Overall, this series is definitely targeted to adolescent girls, pre-teens. The characters are creative (there’s not just unicorns in the land of Luster!), and the books create a cohesive plot that ends with a battle between good and evil.

What was your favorite book in the series?

It has to be the first book, hands down. The introduction to the unicorns, the land of Luster, and the beginning of a marvelous adventure, all rolled into one. Also, it is the book I stayed up all night with. It can’t compare to the others, though they are good books too.

Would you reread the entire series or just one book from the series?

Actually, I think I would do both. I have reread the first book several times, as it was the only book of the series I had for decades (2). When I finally got my hands on the rest of the series I read through the whole thing. And now that I’m typing this up I want to reread them all again.

Final Thoughts

This series is now my all-time favorite series. I do have a few others I really like, but this one takes the cake.

Keep reading little book worms!
